Local Witch participating in fruitcrush, their choice of fruit being blackberries

Handsome boy crushes oranges, a uncommon choice for participants in the fruit-crush movement.

A generally new movement. Although the purpose and overall motive is unknown, the concept is simple. Fruitcrush consists of participant(s) holding fruit in their hand and thoroughly crushing it by clenching their fist. Generally a person would photograph their hand (and often with themselves in the picture) before, during and after the crush. Squishing out the entirety of the juices is preferable in order to make it be clear and emphasize the crushing that took place. It also tends to make the photos more visually pleasing.

Enviromental ConsciousnessEdit

Cool teen crushing blackberries, notice the consumption postcrush, discouraging wastefulness.

A common and often encouraged post-crush act is to eat the pulpy remains and drink the juice of the fruit. This promotes ecofriendly behavior and demonstrates an unwasteful new generation that is slowly growing.

Good Fruit To CrushEdit

  • Peaches
  • Berries
  • Oranges
  • Lemons
  • Rotting fruit (perfect amount of crushability, might as well crush before you throw it in the compost)

Fruit You Shouldn't CrushEdit

  • Pineapples
  • Apples
  • Melons

The most common and ideal fruit chosen by many are berries. Berries hold the most output for juice and are most vibrant compared to other selections. Along with that, they are the easiest to crush, which allows everyone to take part and makes them the basic beginner choice for most.

However in time, with experiance and gradual increase in skill, people are able to move on to more advanced fruit crushing.

Tumblr user bitterplant started this trend in Mid 2014. She started this trend, encoraging many of her followers to do the same. It slowly gained popularity over the course of a month.
